Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the purposes for using it, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By using McCulloch County Criminal History, you consent to the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server may automatically receive these technical details:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Time spent on individual pages
  • The referring site, when one is reported

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure visits, popular pages, and where a browsing session ends. Analytics providers combine that traffic into broader reports. You may block cookies through browser controls, although doing so can change how parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search request to the selected provider
  • Maintaining site speed and availability
  • Finding and repairing technical faults
  • Measuring which pages visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

McCulloch County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies request routes through the sheriff, local courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to McCulloch County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms control. Review them before providing personal information.

Some advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across sites and select targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure site traffic and performance
  • The search provider chosen to handle a query
  • Advertising networks serving ads on the pages
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No online system can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, we will remove it after notice.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. Texas Government Code Chapters 552 and 411 govern public information and criminal-history dissemination by government custodians; they do not turn this private site into a county records office. At a minimum, you may:

  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date, and continued use will be subject to the posted policy.
